Hello,
Does anyone know where Ralph Koker lives? He was from Athens,Ohio, and served on the Knapp as a gun captain, with my Dad, H Madison Hughes, in the Korean War.

Thank you for any information you can provide, on how to contact him.

Thanks again, & Merry Christmas to you all,
Deborah

My dad Alvin "Junior" Williams served on the USS Knapp in 1945. He was from West Virginia. He was a full time baker and part time gunner. He told me of his travels in the south pacific. Dad passed away in April 2006. He was always proud of his service on the Knapp...he always wore his hat when he went out. Thank you for the opportunity to sign this book.

Thanks to all who helped make my dad's (Pete Brady) reunion such a memorable one. He thoroughly enjoyed it and since he got sick 3 days after he came home it was the last wonderful thing he did. Dad has passed away on October 23rd. Thank you to all who touched his life. He was so proud of the Knapp and the guys that fought the war with him. I am very grateful to all who spent time with him and made his life a little happier!

My uncle, John Wendell Wallen from Albany, KY served aboard the USS Knapp during WWII. I'm sorry to say he passed away Oct. 8, 2010, in Yorktown, IN. John always attended the reunions especially those in Boston. One of his recent stories was of being in a typhoon in the Sea of Japan and being on the bridge when the Captain turned the ship into the wind to weather the storm. We all will miss him.

My Father, H. Madison Hughes was on the USS Knapp (DD-653), 1951-55 I think. He was a gun captain. My Dad lives in VA.

I am trying to find a shipmate. His name is Roger S Hall, from Martinsville, VA ,later thought to have moved to South Carolina.

Would you email me, if you might know where he is?
Blessings to you all. This website is wonderful, Debbie :)

My husband John, Served on the Knapp in the 50's and made two world cruises. He also hosted a reunion in Boston in 1995. He passed away a week after the reunion. he loved the Navy and the time he spent on the Knapp. It was great to find this website and look for old shipmates.
